Bridging Generations
Czech Industry Challenge
In today's digital age, it is often argued that technology drives us apart. We, however, see it differently. 3D printing represents a unique opportunity to bridge the technical world of adults with the boundless imagination of children.
When technical proficiency and an eye for detail — provided by parents or grandparents — meet the unrestricted creativity of a child at a single workbench (and a single printer), the resulting creations possess immeasurable value. It is not merely about a plastic model; it is about shared time, ingenuity, the cultivation of patience, and the profound joy experienced when a digital design materialises into a tangible object. For their development, children need to understand that products do not simply appear on shop shelves, but can be conceived and crafted by their own hands — much like the "Generational Tree" featured here.
Have you and your children or grandchildren created something unique? Do you have a 3D-printed toy designed by your child, or a household gadget developed together? Show us your family 3D projects! We are seeking inspiring examples of intergenerational collaboration. Send us a photograph of your joint creation and get involved. How to participate?
- Take a photo of your joint work (the "design team" is welcome to be in the shot too!).
- Attach a brief commentary (what the object is, the inspiration behind it, and the most enjoyable part of the process).
- Send your entries by 27 January 2027 to: info@czechindustrychallenge.cz
By submitting your photographs, you grant us permission to share your image on our social media platforms and within official press releases, with full credit to the photographer and the creators of the 3D work. Help us inspire other families to discover the magic of modern manufacturing!
